We are looking for a Data Planning Analyst to join the Customer Insight team. This role is responsible for providing insight driven data selections and the running of ad-hoc reporting/analysis, to help optimise targeting and ensure customers always receive relevant and timely communications from Gymshark. This role is critical to ensuring data & insight is being fully maximised in its use across the business, particularly for the Brand and Marketing/CRM teams. The Data Planning Analyst will use their deep understanding of the data we have and how it can be used, to help improve the relevance and efficiency of our communications, therefore boosting marketing and CRM performance. They will work closely with the Customer Analytics and Customer Research teams to understand all customer insights identified, then formulating plans with stakeholders across the business to ensure these insights are actioned through targeted data selections/segmentation. 

What you'll be doing...
  • Provide accurate, relevant, insight driven data selections for targeted activities and communications across the business. This includes targeting for Marketing/CRM activity (email, social media, search, DM), loyalty program rewards/communications, research activities, customer service communications and more.

  • Act as a gatekeeper for customer data, ensuring Gymshark’s use of data for marketing communications is compliant to GDPR standards (and local legislation) and that best practice suppressions are applied.
  • Support teams with the implementation of new systems which enable or improve our data targeting, ensuring all data needed for insight driven targeting is available and actionable
  • Manage data imports, exports, segments and audiences within communication systems, such as our marketing automation platform. 
  • Support the marketing team in the implementation of a test and learn framework, enabling tests to be accurately conducted and documenting test results. 
  • Support the CRM team in delivering automated and triggered campaign programmes for various customer segments, providing recommendations on targeting where appropriate.
  • Identify data quality issues and work with the Data and IT teams to ensure they are resolved.

  • You are passionate about data with outstanding numerical, technical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability and willingness to learn new tools and programmes 
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both technical and non-technical colleagues, translating complex concepts into simple terms where required
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other team members to deliver immediate tasks 
  • Knowledge/experience in data analysis tools and technologies (i.e. Excel, VBA, SPSS, SAS)
  • An understanding of data warehousing principals
  • Can demonstrate strong analytical ability as well as strategic grasp of the ‘big picture’
  • The ability to thrive in a risk-taking, fast paced environment
  • You are a naturally curious thinking, self-driven character with a passion for understanding customers and meeting their needs

Nice to have's...

  • A degree in a business or maths related discipline
  • Experience within an analytical, mathematical, programming or equivalent role 
  • Experience in using digital analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics
  • Relevant programming language skills (i.e. SQL, Python, JSON, R)
  • A background in eCommerce
